With telecommunications being an increasingly important field in today’s business environment, the use of extensive telecommunications control software is an important aspect of any telecommunications network.
Telecommunications control software is one of the five basic categories of network components that must be in place to successfully support telecommunication activities. The other five are: Terminals, Telecommunications Processors, Telecommunications channels and Computers.
The management and control of telecommunication activities and networks is a responsibility of telecommunications control software. Telecommunications control software can be in the form of many different components to include; telecommunication monitors, network management components, network operating systems for network servers, microcomputer Web browsers, etc. This software can reside on almost any component of the network and can provide such features as performance monitoring, activity monitoring, priority assigning, transmission error correction and network problem mitigation.
One of Telecommunications control software primary responsibilities is to perform network traffic management and monitoring operations. By managing network resources and circumventing possible congestion situations, this software can drastically improve service level satisfaction to users. The monitoring aspect that telecommunication control software can provide is crucial in being able to provide insight to administrators and users before a potential problem ever occurs.
With security being of great importance, telecommunications control software can be utilized to provide a network with various forms of network security defense implementation to include increased authentication and encryption which will prevent unauthorized system access and exploitation.
Other forms of telecommunications control software can provide insight into capacity planning efforts. Users can be surveyed to track system performance and reliability in an effort to gauge future considerations for potential upgrades and expansion.
In addition, Telecommunications control software can provide users with many functions and communication support services that can greatly enhance a users ability of conduct their work.
In the end, any software that provides the ability to perform telecommunication activities and sustainment operations can be considered telecommunications control software.
